A Wendelry project

Carrel

A publishing management app for writers needing to keep their writing operation organized.

My name is Amy, and I'm the creator of Wendelry. Let me tell you about Carrel.

Carrel was our first project. In fact, it predates Wendelry! It started as a personal writing project I called Amy's Writing Room, to help me organize all of my various writing projects.

I started with the most basic case: write and save a piece. From there I paid attention to every point of friction I kept running into as I went through my regular writing process. I added a calendar to keep track of my projects for next week, next month, and even next year. I also a page that showed me what needed to be worked today. And I added the ability to export the work to a markdown file, making it easy to share with collaborators and to publish. Before I knew it, I had an application that allowed me to go from idea to published work smoothly and efficiently.

I was proud of the application I had created. And I knew I couldn't be the only writer to have this issue. Thus, Amy's Writing Room is now Carrel.

Where to Find Carrel

Carrel is in private beta right now. For the time being people will be slowly let in to try it out. This is partly because it still has edges that need sanded down and fixtures that need polished. And partly because this allows early users to have all of my attention as I work to get this app ready for primetime.

So, whether you have one or a dozen writing projects, and are tired of trying to keep it all organized, this might be the app for you. Click on the button below, and it will take you to a page to request access; leave your name and tell me a little about what you write, and I'll be in touch. I've been using this for my own writing for over a month at this point, and it's well and away my favorite app I've ever created. It works because I needed it, and it's there in case you need it as well.

Thanks!
